Anuj Ghai, Consultant, Wizard IT

In a large house in Wokingham there lives a charismatic change management specialist, with an impressive client list. His name is Anuj Ghai and his track record reads like a Who’s Who of big business, peppered with names such as Safeway, Diageo, BT, ICI, GlaxoSmithKline and Citibank. Since January he has been running some high profile projects with Virgin Media and recently experienced their exciting launch.

In his early years, working his way up the ladder, he was hampered by the lack of a degree. In those days there was nothing like the range of IT courses available as there are today – it was basic computer science or nothing! Anuj older brother Ash took that route, and while Anuj was working for ICI in 1984, he was intrigued with Ash’s studies for a Computer Science degree. “I followed what he was doing, and I think I learnt almost as much from the course as Ash did!” he recalls. Meanwhile Anuj studied part time at Slough College – indeed, he has studied throughout his career, and is a shining example of continual professional development in practice. He now has an impressive array of formal qualifications.

The two brothers work closely together, although they have formed separate but mutually complementary companies. Last June they chose to study for their PRINCE2® qualification with Scoll Methods in Watford, closely followed by the MSP course in August.

Anuj explains, “What I really like about Scoll is the personal approach; it’s like a family environment, and it goes right through the whole culture – the people are genuinely kind. Other training companies I have used are like a production line, totally impersonal, just a qualification conveyor belt.
