Introduction

Whether you are new to Agile or have already adopted one methodology and want to find out about others, this workshop will give provide the information you need.

The growing evidence base that Agile project methods deliver value faster and with higher quality is all well and good. However, if you and/or your organisation have little or no Agile experience - deciding where to start can be quite daunting.

Do not despair! This workshop is ideal for those either approaching the Agile arena for the first time or with limited experience. If you seek a clear, simple comparison of Agile methods and how they work - this day will prove an invaluable starting point.

The day starts with an overview of Agile. The program then provides an unbiased introduction to the three leading methodologies (XP, Atern and SCRUM) by battle-hardened experts from each field.

In the afternoon – these methods will first be compared and contrasted by the method experts before consideration of the common Agile components by the Chair.

With pragmatism in mind and the certain knowledge that not all projects are the same - a panel discussion will then consider how the leading methods may (or may not!) map onto different project contexts.

So that participants can relate Agile to their own organisations and projects, there is ample opportunity for questions throughout the day and a specific Q&A session where the audience can put questions to the speaker panel.

At the end of the workshop you will take away a balanced appreciation of Agile concepts and understand how the different methodologies support it. The workshop will help you understand which methodologies will best fit with your requirements and you will have had the chance also to benchmark your own Agile experience against that of others.
