Course Outline
Change Management Practitioner covers the syllabi for both APMG Foundation and Practitioner qualifications. It is based on the standard work 'Making Sense of Change Management' 2nd edition by Esther Cameron & Mike Green. The course starts by looking at Organisational Change and exploring different approaches to helping Individuals Change and Teams Change. The course addresses the key area of Leading Change and the Practitioner section of the course gives you clear, practical approaches to help you address and support change in your own organisation.
When you successfully complete this programme – designed to fit the new and revised APMG Change Management syllabus – you will be able to show:
- a good basic understanding of the theories and practices of effective Change Management, and
- the know-how to apply and tailor these principles to real organisation situations
The APMG syllabus is divided into four key topic areas of knowledge and application:
Topic 1: IC - Individual Change
Topic 2: TC - Team Change
Topic 3: OC - Organisational Change
Topic 4: LC - Leading Change
The Scoll Methods public courses set all the above in the context of real experiences of organisation changes. The experience of both participants and tutors will be used throughout to address the many complex and challenging issues raised by change. We aim to go beyond the syllabus to help participants develop a practical sensitivity to the issues involved, equipping them with fresh ideas and approaches to use in their day-to-day work.
Our public Practitioner courses are designed to run over five days, and normally offer the Foundation examination at the end of the third day, as a ‘milestone’ on the road to the Practitioner examination on the final day. This course has been accredited by the APMG who are the examining body for Change Management and responsible for all aspects of the provision of exams including setting, marking, feedback and appeals. Scoll Methods, as an accredited training organisation, acts as their agent in providing administrative facilities.
Special three-day ‘conversion’ courses are offered for delegates who have previously attended the APMG “Change Management Principles” (now “Foundation”) course. Please contact us for details.
All our Change Management training is run in partnership with Richard Smith Associates, a consultancy offering over 25 years’ experience in this field, and who are therefore able to tailor training to meet the varied specific needs of individual clients. They are also able to provide in-depth consultancy support where required. Please contact us to discuss this.
