A programme organisation structure is a set of people 'playing roles' and taking on specific responsibilities.

	SPONSORING GROUP Senior line management group with siginificant funding authority.
	A SENIOR RESPONSIBLE OWNER (SRO) A member of the Sponsoring Group. Desires and held responsible for achievement of the visionary outcome.
	A PROGRAMME MANAGER Manages the programme resources on behalf of the SRO. Works with Project Teams on a daily basis.
	BUSINESS CHANGE MANAGER(S) Line manager(s) responsible for business transition to make use of the new capability(ies) and realise benefits flowing from deployment of the capability(ies).
	PROGRAMME OFFICE The 'Information Hub' for the programme. Expertise in the creation and the application of a programme governance infrastructure.
	PROGRAMME ASSURANCE Independent assessors of programme effectiveness in terms of both programme management and benefits realisation.

SRO and Business Change Manager responsibilities continue on beyond the end of the programme.
