My boss offered me a promotion, but I had to take some management courses. I’ve been trying to get a promotion at work, and my boss recommended that I take 3 courses. MSP training, Prince2 training, and MoR training. I hadn’t heard of a couple of those so I was excited to do some research. One is a course on risk management (MoR stands for management of risk) while the other two deal with various issues related to running a business and managing projects. I should have expected that there would be some educational requirements, but I’ve risen pretty far without any special training, so I was actually a little surprised. I’ll probably do the MSP training first, and then the Prince2 training, and finish it off with the MoR training. It shouldn’t be too hard for me, and once I have the training, I can use it on any resume. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some interesting job opportunities in the newspaper and online that require some of these certifications, so I may decide to investigate some other employment options. The company is paying me to take the courses, so the price is not an issue. I’ll probably start the MSP training next week. I’m not sure how long any of the courses take, so I’ll have to do a little investigation. I’m thinking the most interesting will probably be the Prince2 training, and the most beneficial will be the MoR training. Risk management seems to be a really important requirement for a lot of different jobs
